Srimurugan Alagan began legal practice at the Criminal Bar following his pupillage under the late Karpal Singh. He currently practises under the name Srimurugan & Co and continues to maintain an active criminal practice. He has appeared in numerous cases in the subordinate and superior courts, and is familiar with a wide range of practice areas.
Srimurugan has been a contributor to the Malaysian White Book since its inaugural edition and more recently contributed the annotations to the Rules of the Federal Court 1995 and the Rules of the Court of Appeal 1994. He previously published Jurisdiction of Courts in Malaysia (2nd edn, 2014), The Criminal Procedure Code – A Commentary (2nd edn, 2018) and Personal Insolvency Law in Malaysia (2022) with Thomson Reuters. His articles have been regularly published in local law journals.
Srimurugan holds a Master of Laws (University of London), specialising in International Dispute Resolution.
