Jessie Lee Suan Cui

Jessie Lee Suan Cui graduated from University of Malaya in 2018. She completed her pupillage at a boutique litigation firm in 2019 and was subsequently admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 2020.
She is currently a corporate and commercial litigator at Lim Chee Wee Partnership. Her areas of practice include fraud and asset recovery, corporate disputes, restructuring and insolvency work and international arbitration. She regularly writes on her legal blog, where she focuses on analysing latest key developments on civil procedure and corporate disputes.

Raphael Kok Chi Ren’s legal career spans over private practice, corporate in-house, and academic research. In 2008, he graduated from University of Malaya as the valedictorian of his LLB class. After completing pupillage and being called to the Malaysian Bar in 2009, he practiced as a dispute resolution lawyer at Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill. In 2012, he joined Shell as a corporate counsel overseeing the Asia-Pacific region. In 2014, he was awarded the Best Malaysian In-House Lawyer of the Year by ASEAN Legal Business.
 
From 2015 to 2022, Raphael returned to University of Malaya where he taught mooting, professional drafting, equity and trust, and civil procedure, whilst pursuing LLM by dissertation (full research). His area of expertise encompasses public and private international law, especially human rights, data privacy, and trade and investment. He has published several articles in high-indexed peer-reviewed journals, including International & Comparative Law Quarterly (Cambridge University Press) and ICSID Review – Foreign Investment Law Journal (Oxford University Press).
 
At the time of writing, Raphael practices as a dispute resolution lawyer at Lim Chee Wee Partnership specializing in corporate disputes, international arbitration, and asset recovery. He continues to actively contribute articles in local and international journals.
