About the Author

Datuk Dr Baljit Singh Sidhu is an experienced criminal law practitioner who has appeared regularly in the lower courts as well as the superior courts in West Malaysia. He is an active member of the Malaysian Bar Council Criminal Committee. Baljit has assisted the Bar Council on the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code in 2006/2007 and 2010. He was appointed Adjunct Professor of the Law Faculty of University Sultan Zainal Abidin Terengganu and of University Sains Islam Malaysia respectively.

Since 2016, Baljit has been appointed as a member of the advisory panel to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.  He has also been conferred Assistant Commissioner of Police (Honorary) by the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Dato' Seri Haji Ismail bin Haji Omar in 2012. A prolific author, Baljit has published several articles in various journals. His first book Criminal Litigation Process published in 2008 was well received by the market and the revised editions were published in 2011 and 2015. Baljit is also an experienced Criminal Procedure lecturer who has been teaching the subject for 20 years.
