About the Author
 
Gan Chong Chieh holds a LLB (Hons) London, LLM in International Economic Law (First Class) (East China University of Political Science and Law), CLP and is a partner at MahWengKwai & Associates heading the firm’s ASEAN-China Desk for inbound and outbound investments. He practises in the areas of construction, strata management disputes, contested and uncontested estate matters, debt recovery, as well as banking, criminal, commercial and general litigation.
 
Chong Chieh has given talks at seminars organised by the Bar Council, State Bars and private organisations. He has been invited to share his experiences on a radio station and has judged mooting competitions. He has also written legal-related articles which were published in magazines. He recently completed updating Atkin’s Court Forms Malaysia for Evidence and Probate published by LexisNexis Malaysia.
 

A scholar of YES-CHINA Youth of Excellence Programme under the China Ministry of Education in 2017, Chong Chieh was ranked by AsiaLaw [2021] as a Leading Lawyer (Rising Star) in Dispute Resolution and was a finalist for the Young Lawyer of the Year at the ALB Malaysia Law Awards 2021. He was a volunteer lawyer of the National Legal Aid Foundation as well as TrustLaw, a Thomson Reuters Foundation pro bono legal programme.
