About the Author Srimurugan Alagan is a senior litigator and practises under the name Srimurugan & Co. He has vast experience in criminal and civil litigation in Malaysia. Srimurugan has been a contributor to the Malaysian Civil Procedure (The White Book) since its inaugural edition and has also contributed the annotations to the Rules of the Federal Court 1995 and the Rules of the Court of Appeal 1994. He previously published Jurisdiction of Courts in Malaysia (2nd edn, 2014), The Criminal Procedure Code: A Commentary (2nd edn, 2018), Federal Constitution: A Commentary (2019) and Law of Evidence: A Commentary (2020) with Thomson Reuters. His articles have been regularly published in local law journals. Srimurugan holds a Masters in Law (University of London), specialising in International Dispute Resolution. He also regularly teaches in public and private universities.
