Srimurugan Alagan began legal practice at the Criminal Bar following his pupillage under the late Karpal Singh. He currently practises under the name Srimurugan & Co and has an active criminal and civil practice. He has appeared in numerous cases in the subordinate and superior courts and is familiar with a wide range of practice areas.

 

Srimurugan has been a contributor to the Malaysian White Book since its inaugural edition and has also contributed the annotations to the Rules of the Federal Court 1995 and the Rules of the Court of Appeal 1994. He previously published Jurisdiction of Courts in Malaysia (2nd edn, 2014), The Criminal Procedure Code – A Commentary (2nd edn, 2018) as well as Federal Constitution – A Commentary (2019) with Thomson Reuters. His articles have been regularly published in local law journals.

Srimurugan holds a Masters in Law (University of London), specialising in International Dispute Resolution. He also regularly teaches in public and private universities.
